From a young age, I developed a strong passion for styling my hair, finding joy in braiding, experimenting with extensions, and practicing on my family members. One of my most cherished memories is when I braided my great grandmother’s hair, deepening our special bond. However, I faced a challenge in understanding how to care for my natural hair, as many black girls turned to perms and weaves instead of embracing their curls. Determined to break this cycle, I wanted my daughter to grow up loving and caring for her own unique curls.

Recognizing the importance of teaching children to embrace their natural hair, I wrote a book sharing the journey of what has worked for my daughter and me. Through this book, I aim to empower mothers and their children, teaching them that their coily, curly hair is perfect just the way it is. As my daughter Khloe has grown and attracted attention with her beautiful hair, other mothers have approached me, curious about my hair care routine. This inspired me to share my knowledge and experiences to support and guide other mothers in caring for their children’s hair.
